I am a first-generation immigrant from Sweden brought here by parents who were recruited to work for Boeing in 1968. Growing up in North Seattle, my family was a big part of the Scandinavian community. My interest in a career in business started young and was to a great degree encouraged by my father.
After spending many years as a retail store manager with Foot Locker, I decided at the young age of 24 to become a stockbroker at a major firm in Anchorage, Alaska. After a few tough, hard-working years, I eventually found myself in the Western Washington area working for Washington Mutual Financial Services until the demise of the parent company. With an established, loyal, and supportive clientele, I founded Steilacoom Investments in 2009.
Today, I work with clients that have generally been with me for the last two decades or more. My investors and I have been through the best of times, the worst of times, low and high interest rates, the political leanings of five presidents, and countless global crises and historical events. My clientele and I stick to the established fundamentals of finance and have weathered the many storms. With an emphasis on safety first, we strategically balance our portfolios diligently without fear or greed controlling our decisions.
I truly love my career and feel that this is what I was meant to do in life. In my mid 50s now, I can easily see myself working another 25 years or more. My business is a pleasure to run, and I find an ample amount of time to spend with my family and pursue my hobbies. My partnership with Commonwealth Financial Network®, a Registered Investment Adviser-broker/dealer, is a tremendous asset, providing support for my business so that I can better serve my clients.
During my free time, I enjoy family outings, travel, bicycling, skiing, hiking and motorcycling the mountains and forests of Western North America. I also have a large network of former colleagues that I routinely stay in touch with and share thoughts and visions about our dynamic and interesting career as financial advisors.
